Meet Joel
Financial Planner & Philanthropist helping Canadians give more intentionally
From teeing off on the golf course to saying “Yes” to any game his kiddos want to play, Joel embraces life’s adventures with enthusiasm. Married to his high school sweetheart, Jamie, they prioritize their family time with two wonderful children, Willa and Jude. Joel effortlessly blends fun and growth into everyday life, balancing his hobbies, fitness, and personal development.
After losing his mother, Judy, to cancer at 48, Joel learned early on that each day is a gift. Tragically, less than two decades later, his father, Reg, also passed away from cancer at 65. By the age of 35, having lost both parents, Joel decided to stop talking about his vision of incorporating planned giving within financial planning and fully commit to “Intentional Philanthropy.”
Joel is on a mission to educate and inspire donors, charities, and other professional advisors with unique stories, strategies and perspectives to give more cost- and tax-efficiently.
Joel is a highly-respected financial planner and has been a trailblazer in his field since launching his career in 2006.
In addition to being a proud member of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP), his deep-seated commitment to philanthropy and financial planning have led him to attain the following credentials:
Master Financial Advisor in Philanthropy (MFA-P)
Certified Financial Planner (CFP)
Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU)
Chartered Investment Manager (CIM)
